MFG Day helps showcase the appeal of modern manufacturing careers and encourages thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to teach students, parents, teachers and community leaders about all the inner workings of the industry. MFG Day also empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, MFG Day 2020 will look very different from previous years. Macomb County, along with its educational and business partners, will be holding a MFG Week from Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2, 2020. Six companies will be showcasing their facility virtually and will hold a Zoom meeting for students to watch live or throughout the week. Macomb Community College and Michigan Works- Young Professionals will also have virtual exhibit booths during the duration of the week.
Starting Monday, September 28th, students, teachers, and parents can log into the secure Zoom meeting and see live presentations from our six Gold Level sponsors. An email will be sent the evening before with the Zoom details for the following day as long as you pre-register (can also register the day of). The Live Zoom will provide an overview of the company, and will highlight an individual(s) who works for the company. He or she will then discuss their educational pathway and why they decided on advanced manufacturing for a career. After the Live Zoom, students, teachers, and their families will be able to explore the facility in a 3D virtual experience. These videos will be available for students and parents to access from home even after the Live Zoom is completed. You can also tour each facility at your leisure.
